An absolute victory of the healing and wholeness of the cross -whether it be, physical, spiritual, or emotional- is not that God can heal you once, but that He can do it again and again and again; His love through healing never ceases.
When a person’s heart grasps the promise of all that He offers through healing, it is a beautiful thing. Trust strengthens, the guard goes down, the mind opens up and the spirit of God freely moves. The testimony of that healing -whatever form it was delivered in and for- should be the biggest encourager that Jesus is alive and that the power of His blood can do ANYTHING. In theory, that’s how it should go…
Instead, all too often when that same child of God needs to call out for healing AGAIN – maybe for the emotional scars that have reopened, or for that tumour that has reappeared – it is then that the enemy speaks; “well He didn’t really heal you then did He. You can’t trust Him again this time, can you?”.
Maybe it’s the healing of your marriage or a relationship that you were seeing fruit in, probably even tasting it, but it didn’t last long… not long enough. So, you doubt that it was God in the first place and that maybe it was just you wishing and wanting it so.
The enemy that lies to you, does so to rob from you. Don’t let the enemy erase a testimony that God gave.
The thing is, healing can -of course- be a sudden or instant miracle, but often God reveals Himself to us through our relationship with Him. The small yet significant, day by day steps of spiritual strengthening that we need in order to understand that He can be trusted with our healing; not once, but twice, or however many times is needed – because, His mercies never come to an end.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Ask yourself these two questions:
- Is there anything in my life where I have stopped believing for healing?
- Who’s voice am I listening to; the enemy’s or God’s?
